Pop-Up Play Day is open to women and girls of all ages. Hosted by mothers, teachers and community volunteers everywhere, these events can help facilitate the start of a new Play Like a Girl Club or support an existing one in your area.
Pop-Up Play Day brings the power and happiness of active, outdoor play to families across the globe through free summer experiences and year-round educational opportunities — especially for girls who don’t yet have a Play Like a Girl Club in their area. Pop-Up Play Day activities include:
Gather as few as 10 mothers and their daughters for a fun morning or afternoon of old-fashioned play including Double Dutch, hopscotch and hula hoop.
Invite high school and college athletes to join in on the fun if you decide to host a school- or community-wide event featuring skills-based sports clinics.
Add a POUND fitness or Zumba® class to kick it up a notch with at least 30 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for women and girls alike.
Dates vary by city but all Pop-Up Play Days run for 2-3 hours during the warmest months of the year, May through September.
Applications are open from January through March. We value diverse partnerships and encourage applications from individuals and groups of women of all backgrounds.
Pop-Up Play Day events are held in backyards, neighborhood parks and on school yards all over the world. Some events are private and only open to invited guests or students at a particular school.
