MLK Day Poster Design Contest
Black Girls CODE and Zola Presents: MLK Day Poster Design Contest
Want to learn how to use digital design to create change. This year, Black Girls Code, along with Zola, honors Dr. King’s memory by sponsoring a Postcard Design Contest. The winning submission will be used as a promotional element for MLK Day to be displayed on the Black Girls CODE/ Zola social media. We will be hosting a workshop to teach students how to design their postcards.
Before the event, students need to keep in mind our Submission Requirements:
The design must include a quote from MLK.

Meet + Mentor with Sarah Fuller
Sarah Fuller made SEC history on November 28th when she became the first woman to play in a Power 5 college football game. With her stamp on history, she brought us along for the ride with four words on the back of her helmet - Play Like a Girl.
We invite you to join us for a special edition of Meet + Mentor, a virtual mentoring program for girls nationwide. You’ll meet Sarah and hear what motivates her on and off the field. Additionally, you’ll learn her STEM career ambitions as a college senior at Vanderbilt University.
Plus, you’ll get the chance to experience an interactive speed mentoring session with women professionals in STEM. Meet + Mentor is free and open to girls anywhere. Applications for the Spring 2021 cohort will be accepted through February 1.

National Coded Self Portrait Contest
Artists often pull inspiration from the world around them in order to bring their artwork to life. This year, for our 6th annual competition, we’re challenging Code/Artists to do the same!
Some ways to do this: code a self-portrait backdrop representative of where you live, code yourself wearing attire indicative of your environment or culture, or think even more outside of the box to tell us about you and your community!
Whether it’s literal or figurative, we challenge girls to create a coded self-portrait that’s inspired by their community, their culture, and the place they call home!
